Online Resource Library

Welcome to the Bent Bars Online Resource Library! One of the aims of the Bent Bars Project is to collect and distribute resources that are relevant for LGBTQ people inside prison. We also aim to provide information more broadly about issues affecting LGBTQ prisoners. In order to make these resources more widely-accessible, we have created this online resource library, so you can download and print any of our resources. If you have resources to share, please let us know so we can add them to the library.

Important Notice: Please note that we take a harm reduction approach to issues of safer sex, drug use and self-harm. This means that we believe it is important to provide reliable, accurate and non-judgemental information so people can make informed decisions about their own health and well being. However, sending some of these materials can be risky for your penpal, particularly if the person is not 'out' in prison about their sexuality or about other issues (such as HIV status, drug use history, self-harm issues, etc).

***Please always check with your penpal before sending in any resources.***

To use the resource list: You can either scroll through the entire list to see all the resources or you can select a specific "Resource Type" on the drop-down menu, and click apply to filter for those results.
